Elizabeth Charlton

Director, Principal Physio, Oncology Lymphoedema Specialist

Liz is passionate about providing a holistic approach to recovery. She has a particular interest in exercise prescription and has developed an evidence-based exercise program which is now available at the Clinic. Liz completed her physiotherapy qualification at the University of Queensland. She then completed Level 1 Lymphoedema training in Sydney and gained further experience working at Calvary Hospital’s Lymphoedema Service (Calvary Health Care ACT), working closely with surgeons, oncologists and Breast Care Nurses (ACT Health) to provide integrated care for patients with lymphoedema. She is passionate about providing holistic care to assist clients to maintain independence through a healthy lifestyle. She has a special interest in exercise as a management strategy for recovery and have been developed an evidence-based weights-training class designed to improve function and quality of life for those who are at risk of, or those who have developed upper limb lymphoedema (Cornie, P, Pumpa, K., Galvao, A., Turner, E. et al., Journal of Cancer Survivorship vol. 7 (2), June 2013). She is fortunate to be able to combine skills as a musculoskeletal and lymphoedema physiotherapist to assist patients to return to, and/or maintain, optimal function. Liz is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association, in addition to the Australian Lymphology Association (ALA), and is registered with the National LymphoedemaPractitioners’ Register (NLPR). Liz has also completed her PINC and STEEL certification.

Fleur Balmain

Fleur Balmain is a masters physiotherapist, a business owner and manager and a clinical educator who prides herself in knowing a variety of techniques to manage the range of different spinal conditions that present in the community. She believes in enabling the patient to have the power to control the symptoms of back or neck pain through education and thorough examination to guarantee the most appropriate course of management. I promise an understandable explanation of symptoms, even when the diagnosis seems vague

An ESSA accredited Exercise Physiologist, with over 30 years in the health and fitness industry, Lea specialises in exercise prescription for chronic disease and health conditions. She also enjoys working with patients with specific injury prevention and management needs.

Georgia Tzavalas

Accredited Lymphoedema Massage Therapist

Georgia is the most recent addition to our team She is passionate about the management of lymphoedema, having recently completed her advanced training with the Australian Institute of Lymphoedema. She is an experienced lymphatic massage therapist who is looking to develop her skills further into garment prescription and bandaging.

Gemma Sprigglett

Accredited Oncology/Lymphoedema Occupational Therapist

Gemma is an occupational therapist and the newest member of the team at Positive Motion Rehabilitation. Having undergone her own personal journey with breast cancer, and subsequently lymphoedema, Gemma has come to appreciate the benefit of holistic allied health support. She has developed a passion for working with others undergoing their own cancer ‘journey,’ aiming to facilitate recovery and support a return to their best. Gemma completed her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at James Cook University in 2009. She is an accredited PINC therapist and has now completed her Level 1 Lymphoedema Management training at Macquarie University (MQ Health) Lymphoedema Clinic. Gemma believes that through self-care, fun and funky compression garments and tailored exercise programs, it is possible to manage lymphatic dysfunction with style! Gemma aims to bring an element of light and laughter to the treatment team at Positive Motion Physiotherapy is committed to providing a high level of evidence-based patient care.

Tara Lambeth

Occupational Therapist - Oncology and Lymphoedema

Tara is the newest member of the oncology/lymph team. As an OT from New Zealand, who has also had experience in exercise rehabilitation, she is a versatile member of the team.

Madeleine Walker

Physiotherapist + Women's Health

Madeleine completed her Masters Degree in Physiotherapy at the University of Canberra in 2009 and has since worked extensively in the NSW and ACT health systems. Madeleine is a hands-on physiotherapist who has completed APPI Pilates Matwork courses (Levels 1, 2 & 3), and frequently applies her extensive knowledge of Pilates techniques to the recovery from and prevention of injuries.

Bryan Villeza

Oncology and General Physiotherapist

Bryan is the most recent addition to our team He has a passionate interest in oncology management and has gained a wealth of experience as a physiotherapist in general and aged care settings. He also loves basketball and has an interest in managing our sports/spinal patients at the Clinic too.

Ian Chua

Massage Therapist - Oncology Management

Ian has a passion for working with oncology patients and assisting them through their journey of treatment and recovery. He has also developed advanced skills in scar tissue release. Katie graduated from the University of Canberra with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. She has an intense interest in sports and is working with the Canberra Raiders female squad in 2025.

Aaron graduated from the University of Canberra with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. He is a also a qualified personal trainer so brings a wealth of high level exercise knowledge to his role.

Hilary Bridgen

General Massage Therapist

Hilary initially gained Cert IV in Remedial Massage in 2002, which she then followed with a Diploma specialising in Sports Massage in 2006. Hilary is very enthusiastic about assisting people with massage to aid recovery, post-injury rehabilitation, pain relief and stress-related muscular tension.
